Halloween!

We had our own celebration in the classroom for Halloween.
Here we are wearing our scary masks!
Can you recognise anyone?
We had great fun taking part in the old tradition of 'dookin fur epples'!

Although some of us did get a bit wet!

A taste of Orkney.

We made bere bannocks as part of our Holiday Orkney topic.
This is what they looked like - they tasted delicious, especially with Orkney butter on them!
These are the ingredients that we used.

Muddisdale Treasure!

On Tuesday 28th we went to Muddisdale to do a treasure hunt. We had to find hidden objects by following directions and try to guess what it would be from the clues.

There was a huge, scary spider hiding under the bridge! Ross thought it was spinning a web to catch the troll!
There were fairies sitting on branches.
We wondered what kind of tiny creature would use the little door in the tree. We knocked but no one answered - this time!
Who would sit on this tiny chair?
Finding a chest full of treasure was exciting! Is it real gold we wondered?

It took a lot of searching to find some of the objects!

But eventually we found them all!

Here we are!

We're all getting settled into our new class with Mr Taylor.

Here we are playing a shape game. We have to guess which shape is missing. No peeping!

We're learning our tables by playing games with dice. This one is called The Creaky Corridor.

Our topic this term is Holiday Orkney so we are studying the map and learning where all the islands are.

We're learning about directions and finding routes on a map.
